UROS TITINO

The floating islands of the Uros in Lake Titicaca are a unique traditional engineering phenomenon in the world and a living manifestation of a worldview centered on nature and adaptability to the environment. Meet its inhabitants. The uros are a fascinating and unique ethnic group in the world: they are able to build their own islands using a type of plant that grows in Lake Titicaca, called totora.

A FULL DAY

We start at 9:00 am We welcome and start transfer to the boat from the port of San Pedro (in the district of Capachica) in the direction of the floating island Uros Titino, known as the first fishermen of Lake Titicaca, inhabitants of a magical artificial island of totora reeds. Duration: 45 minutes approximately. 

Arrival and reception by the native family. And then we will appreciate the way of living of the families: the barter system they practice, curiosities of the Totora plant, How is the construction system of the floating island, how are the houses of the island; we will know the Totora handicrafts, their fishing methods 

and we will take a walk on a Totora raft, knowing details of its construction and durability. We will collect eggs in the style of the locals and finally we will visit the school of the lake and return in the same boat to the port of San Pedro.
